BONNYRIGG ROSE won the battle of the top two and stretched their lead to seven points with a deserved 2-1 win over SPARTANS.

Rose pressed home their advantage in the 10th minute when ex-spartans player Dean Hoskins headed home a corner. Rose went 2-0 up in the 28th minute when Callum Connolly headed home a free-kick from Lee Currie. It was 88 minutes before Spartans got the break. A long ball from Finn Robson found

Sam Newman, who rounded the Rose goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the empty net to make it 2-1.

CELTIC B got a 1-0 win over GRETNA 2008, whose new manager Stephen Hatfield only took over on Tuesday night. Gretna fought hard throughout, but it was a tremendous Owen Moffat strike that finally sunk Gretna in the 73rd minute.

BERWICK RANGERS coasted to an 11-0 win over struggling VALE OF LEITHEN who are now looking for a manager – and their first point. Poor Vale have lost 24 goals in the space of three days and four of them were in the first half of this game. Berwick showed no mercy and Sean Stewart and Ciaran Heeps hit hat-tricks, while there was a double for Graham Taylor. Lewis Allan, Jamie Pyper and Kieran Mcgrath completed the rout.

CUMBERNAUL­D COLTS made it back-to-back 4-1 wins when they beat BO’NESS UNITED. Colts led at the turn when Sean Winter chipped the ball over the keeper, with Craig Murray doubling the score in the 58th minute. United pulled one back through Kyle Wilson, but, in the last three minutes, Lewis Warnock and Shaun Brown struck twice to clinch it.

CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS edged out GALA FAIRYDEAN ROVERS 3-2 after the Fairies when ahead with a Jack Beaumont penalty in 33 minutes. Then, 12 minutes into the second half, Andy Johnstone equalised and Kosakov put Strollers 2-1 ahead on the hour. Liam Gray got the home side back to 2-2, but Ross Young hit a late winner for Strollers,

EAST STIRLINGSH­IRE completed the double over EDINBURGH UNIVERSITY with a 2-0 victory and nine points from their last three matches. The opening goal came on 36 minutes when Dean Watson hit a great shot into the top corner of the net to finish off a three-man move. The second came in the 62nd minute when Jamie Hamilton finished off a corner.

BROOMHILL recorded a surprise 2-0 win over DALBEATTIE STAR. On 50 minutes, Mcnab had a chance for the home side, but his header went high. In the 79th minute, Finlay Gray fired in a great shot which beat Star keeper Luke Holt. Six minutes from time, Star thought they had a penalty, but the ref changed his mind after speaking to the linesman and a corner was given. Worse was to follow for the visitors when Andy Monk hit the second.

EAST KILBRIDE kept up their winning run with a 3-0 succes over STIRLING UNIVERSITY which takes them up to sixth spot in the table.
