COWDENBEAT­H were shocked at home and made their exit 4-2 to CIVIL SERVICE STROLLERS.

The hosts grabbed the lead in 12 minutes when Harvey Swann’s cross was headed home by Kris Renton.

Soon after, Strollers equalised when a Jao Baikie cross was perfect for Euan Valentine to squeeze the ball home from seven yards.

Strollers won a penalty in 22 minutes when Alieu Badra Faye was foulded by Craig Barr, but the striker’s spot-kick was saved by Cammy Gill.

In 33 minutes, Cowden retook the lead when Liam Buchanan scored from close in, but, soon after, Faye dived to head home the equaliser.

Cowden were down to nine men by 58 minutes as red cards were given to Robbie Buchanan and Liam Buchanan.

Strollers grabbed their third in 64 minutes when Faye headed home from close range and, in 76 minutes, the fourth came as Dukuray turned the ball in.

■ DALBEATTIE STAR and ROTHES live to fight again after a goal-less thriller at Islecroft Stadium. Star dominated the first half and Dom Mcmahon saw his header saved and a Dan Orsi shot was also stopped.

Russell Currie, Lewis Sloan and Jack Dickenson all had good chances, but keeper Sean Mccarthy saved the day for the Highland League side.

In the 50th minute, Rothes got a penalty after Jack Brown was brought down in the box, but on-loan Luke Holt kept Star in the game with a great save.

■ Lowland side BROOMHILL crashed out 2-0 against TRANENT JUNIORS, who took the lead with a 15th-minute goal after early pressure.

The breakthrou­gh came courtesy of a 12-yard shot from Shaun Rutherford.

With seven minutes left, the

Juniors made sure of a thirdround place when Ben Miller fired home from 10 yards.

DUNBAR UNITED and LOTHIAN THISTLE HV drew 1-1. On 73 minutes, Dunbar took the lead with a Jamie Devlin penalty, but, three minutes later, Errol Douglas should have levelled to Thistle, but he skied a penalty-kick.

Thistle forced a replay when Douglas made amends by prodding the ball home.

EAST KILBRIDE coasted to a 4-0 win over STIRLING UNI with Daniel Mcmanus putting them ahead with a 10-yard shot in the 23rd minute.

It was hour mark before they finally got going with Blair Malcolm hitting a 20-yarder o double the score.

Jack Stainrod then hit a late double.

Lowland leaders BONNYRIGG ROSE hit two early goals in their 3-0 win against EAST STIRLINGSH­RIE.

They took the lead after eight minutes with a Kerry Young shot, and Bradley Barrett made it two with a 24th-minute header.

In the 77th minute, George Hunter struck a great shot from a Callum Connolly cross for the third.

AUCHENLECK TALBOT beat PRESTON ATHLETIC 2-0.

Athletic were handicappe­d when Paul Currie was redcarded after 24 minutes.

The 10 men fought hard, but Talbot finally broke the deadlock late on with two goals in five minutes from Jamie Glasgow and Keir Samson.

SAUCHIE JUNIORS beat DUNIPACE 2-1 thanks to two penalties in a tough match which saw Dunipace finish with nine men after Danny Ashe was red-carded on 65 minutes for a second yellow and Sam Colley in stoppage time.

Danny Smith converted the first penalty on 31 minutes, but David Grant equalised on the hour.

Soon after, Danny Ashe was sent off for Dunipace after he

gave away a penalty, which Sauchie’s Danny Smith fired home.

■south League leaders ST CUTHBERT WANDERERS shocked GALA FAIRYDEAN ROVERS early on but went down 3-1 in the end. Dale Milligan shot them into the lead on 25 minutes, but Marc Berry squared things for Gala 12 minutes later.

On half-time, Zander Murray put Saints ahead with a spot-kick, then was sent off for violent conduct.

Daryl Healy, though, sealed the match with a 10-yard drive on 72 minutes.
