NEWTONGRAN­GE picked up two welcome points with a hard-earned 2-1 win over HILL OF BEATH. Chris Robertson gave the visitors the lead after 19 minutes and he added a second in 34 minutes. Callum Adamson pulled one back just before half-time, but Newtongran­ge held out in the second half to take the points.

WHITEHILL WELFARE picked up three points with a 3-2 win over DUNDONALD BLUEBELL. The Bluebells took the lead through Darren Ormiston on his debut, but had keeper Kyle Marley sent off for handling outside the box. Ryan Weir levelled and Ricky Miller and Blair Tolmie added two more for the Welfare before Scott Durie reduced the leeway with seven minutes to go.

MUSSELBURG­H are through to the next round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup after a 2-0 victory over KENNOWAY STAR HEARTS. Mathu King scored both goals, one from a penalty.

LEITH ATHLETIC are through to the final of the

Alex Jack Cup after a 2-1 win over LUNCARTY, and will meet CROSSGATES PRIMROSE in the final, who won a thriller on penalties against BO’NESS ATHLETIC. The visitors were two ahead in the opening seven minutes, but the hosts hit back with goals from Scott Lawrie and Mark Mckenzie. Bo’ness regained the lead, but Lawrie struck again to take it to a penalty shoot-out, which Crossgates won 5-4

In the First Division, STONEYBURN ended up 3-2 winners over BATHGATE. David Hendry opened for Stoneyburn and Scott Mackie made it two. Bathgate pulled one back, but an own goal restored Stoneyburn’s advantage before Bathgate pulled another back.

A goal in the final minute of extra time saw PENICUIK through to the next round of the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup. Earlier, Aaron Sommervill­e had given Cuikie the lead, but a Callum Heath equaliser took it to extra time, with Kieran Watson grabbing

Cuikie’s winner at the death.
