Star insists he’s Irish, not British

-

HOLLYWOOD hunk Michael Fassbender has spoken out about being labelled British.

The silver screen star has reportedly said the media only ever label him British when he’s doing well.

Fassbender, 39, said he considers himself Irish, despite having lived in London for 20 years.

Born in Germany to a German father and an Irish mother, he moved to the Irish county of Kerry at the age of two and grew up there.

He said: “I definitely still consider myself Irish. Yes, yes. And I’m definitely European. I would never consider myself British.”

Fassbender joked that British critics only try to claim him when he’s doing well, adding: “If I’m not, I’m definitely Irish.”
