Lisa said she wanted to share Swayze’s memorabili­a with his fans but refused to comment on opposition from his niece Danielle Swayze, who described the auction as a “slap in the face”.

Swayze, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2009, aged 57, wore the black leather jacket in 1987 film Dirty Dancing when he smash hit 2003 movie. But viewers were shocked when Bill Nighy’s ageing rocker Billy Mac revealed that his manager Joe, played by Gregor, had died.

“I actually got a call from Richard Curtis to say he’d come up with a line about ‘ big man, big heart attack, big hole in my life’,” revealed Gregor.

“He said he liked it and was going to use it, so he thought he’d better tell me in advance.

“It was lovely of him to take the time. My agent told me it caused quite a fuss.”

Whisky Galore is in cinemas in Scotland on Friday and then UK-wide from May 19. delivered the famous line: “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”

It had a pre- sale estimate of $ 4000 to $ 6000 and was bought by a Hollywood memorabili­a collector.

Ms Niemi, who was married to Swayze for 34 years, said: “I have a lot of mixed feelings.

“No matter what, it’s still a letting go.

“There’s always a little bit of loss that will be associated with that.

“While it’s a very positive thing to do, it’s a difficult thing to do.

“I’m such a lucky woman to have had a man who loved me as much as Patrick did.”

Other belongings on sale included a surfboard and wetsuit from Point Break.
