HAD to be at his best to deny Aberdeen on a number of occasions.

Won’t have expected to be so busy but was always alert. ABERDEEN allowed him possession at the back because they believed his distribution isn’t the best.

Stayed strong against the Dons’ regular attacks on the Celtic goalmouth. SUFFERED a nasty facial injury after catching an arm from Stockley (TOM ROGIC, 26, 8, didn’t have an outstanding afternoon but got a matchwinning goal he’ll never forget). COULDN’T produce too many runs down the wing because Aberdeen made him concentrate on defending.

It’s not often that happens in the domestic game. A COOL customer at the back.

The Croat looked like he might be on the way out earlier in the season but proved again he is a quality defender. FORCED to move to the unfamiliar left-back position and came under severe pressure on his flank.

Stuck manfully to the task but too often tempted to run infield. TWISTING and turning, the young Englishman never gave up trying to find a way through some resolute defending by the men from the Granite City.

Defenders were often doubling up against him and that would have discouraged a player with less mental strength.

He now goes back to Manchester City as a Treble winner and much improved.

His season took a little time to fire up but he leaves Parkhead as a major star and with a place in history as one of the Invincibles. UNUSED SUBS – De Vries (Gk), Bitton, Dembele, Gamboa, Sviatchenko, Forrest.
