Celebs bare all for Full Monty cancer drive

-

POINTLESS host Alexander Armstrong has persuaded seven celebrities to recreate the final striptease scene from the Full Monty to raise awareness of prostate and testicular cancer.

Released two days before the death of Princess Diana in 1997, the comedy struck a chord with a nation that had been plunged into mourning.

It grossed more than £200 million at box office, won two Baftas and earned four Oscar nominations.

Now, Armstrong is bringing it back to life as part of a charity project.

But he revealed he had to ask more than 600 people before he got his troupe together.

They will perform in front of a live audience of 2000 people at th e London Palladium and the performance will be shown as part of a 90- minute documentary.

It’s been choreographed by Diversity star Ashley Banjo, and Armstrong himself will be joining them for the full monty – on stage at least if not for the TV viewers.

“I wasn’t planning to be part of it,” he said. “But I couldn’t ask these guys to strip off while remaining fully clothed myself.”

The line- up includes former Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, ballet dancer Wayne Sleep, McFly’s Harry Judd, Towie star Elliott Wright, Emmerdale actor Matthew Wolfenden, actor Danny John- Jules and presenter Dom Littlewood.
