Heightened security at Trooping ceremony

-

SNIPERS were stationed on the roof of Buckingham Palace as the ceremony took place amid tightened security.

Plain clothes officers also mingled among the crowds to bolster the uniformed police presence.

All the senior royals, including Prince William and Prince Charles, were in attendance.

The recent terrorist incidents prompted the bigger than usual security operation.

In total, 1600 soldiers and 244 horses from the Household Division took part.

Only a few weeks ago some of the servicemen were on the streets of London, supporting police on Operation Temperer in the wake of the terrorist attack in Manchester.
