Addicted to beige

A NUMBER of MPs sport light-coloured summer suits at this time of year not just because of the heat but as a ploy to stand out on the green benches and increase their chances of being called to speak by John Bercow.

The Speaker of the House even commented on the phenomenon last week. And SNP MPs have cottoned on, to some colleagues’ displeasure.

“Beige suits?” muttered one female Nat.

“They look like a load of embarrassing uncles.”
