Sir Andy: tennis win left me lost

-

SIR ANDY MURRAY has revealed that winning Wimbledon left him feeling lost for months.

The Dunblane tennis ace became the first British player to win the men’s singles at Wimbledon for 77 years when he lifted the trophy for the first time in 2013.

But he said matching Fred Perry’s 1936 achievement left him feeling “flat” and “a little bit lost”.

He said: “I got asked a lot of questions about Fred Perry: ‘it’s been 74 years, 75 years’. I was getting asked all of the time about it.

“And then I won it and it was like I didn’t know where I was going afterwards. It was like ‘what do I do now?’

“I felt like that was what my purpose was really, in tennis.”
