How acclaimed photographer put 24 other inspirational women in the frame
Mette is one of 25 brave women who feature in an exhibition of women who have faced serious challenges in life.
They form part of the work of photographer Mhairi Bell-moodie.
Mhairi’s exhibition called Nevertheless, She Persisted, is going on show in May in Edinburgh. It takes place at the Out of the Blue Arts and Education Trust in the city’s Dalmeny Street.
“Mette is one of 25
women photographed after they overcame difficult challenges,” Mhairi, 32, said.
“It was vital to capture their confidence and strength in strong portraits.
“Hopefully, my exhibition will inspire and support other women.”
Mhairi’s portraits include women who have beaten addiction problems, lost a loved one, coped with abuse in childhood and who walk the path of motherhood while coping with considerable disabilities.
The exhibition will run from May 8 to 18.
