Our right to know who owns what
This week we bring you more revelations about offshore firms – based in tax havens – owning great swathes of Scottish property.
Thankfully, our coverage has also touched a nerve with politicians now demanding action on a number of fronts relating to this issue.
One of those – and the easiest to do – is to scrap fees for people who want to find out who owns what in their community.
The information is already free in England and Wales and should be in Scotland.
We’d be grateful if you could also back our fight for those details to be made freely available.
A short email explaining the position to your local member of the Scottish Parliament would be a start.
Thank you for your support.
