LIVINGSTON 0 FALKIRK 0

Livingston manager David Hopkin virtually conceded the title race was over and the league trophy was heading for Paisley after enduring a dreary stalemate with Falkirk at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

“I think the league is done,” stated Hopkin. “St Mirren would have won it two weeks ago. Our aim is to try to stay in the play-off positions and I think every result in the league has gone for us today. I have said before that a team like Livingston should not be challenging St Mirren for the league. We’ve had a magnificent February that made us remain in the Championship which was the aim at the start of the season.”

The poor condition of the pitch coupled with intermittent snowfall contributed to the lack of overall aesthetics but an early punt up the pitch almost paid dividends for the Bairns, as the reflexes of Neil Alexander were tested early by quick turn and shot from Alex Jakubiak.
