Kinlochshi­el claim derby spoils at kirkton

Marine Harvest Premiershi­p leaders Kinlochshi­el were 5-2 derby winners against Skye Camanachd at Kirkton.

Ali Nixon, two from Jordan Fraser and Keith Macrae had ‘Shiel 4-0 ahead at the break. Skye’s Jordan Murchison scored twice in the second half, either side of Macrae’s second.

Second-placed Kyles Athletic came from behind to beat Newtonmore 2-1 at The Eilan. Ewan Fraser put ‘More ahead, but Roddy and Colin Macdonald gave Kyles both points.

Lochaber were 3-0 victors against Caberfeidh at Castle Leod. Shaun Nicolson scored twice and John Mackenzie got the other.

James Macpherson gave Glenurquha­rt the lead against Lovat at Balgate. Marc Maclachlan drew Lovat level before Greg Matheson’s late winner.

Oban Camanachd recorded their first win of the season, beating Kingussie 2-0 at Mossfield. An early Daniel Macvicar goal, and a late Andrew Maccuish penalty sealed the win.

Oban’s Daniel Sloss and Kings’ Ryan Macwilliam were both sent off.

In the Marine Harvest National Division, it finished 1-1 between Oban Celtic and leaders Glasgow Mid Argyll at Mossfield.

Daniel Madej gave the Oban side the lead, but Calum Mclay earned GMA a valuable point.

Alexander Macmillan netted as Fort William beat Inverness 1-0 to go second.
