turriff united 1 Forres 2

Turriff came into this game buoyed by a five-goal salvo against Rothes in midweek.

However, they fell behind with Andy Macrae producing a thumping finish to keep the Can Cans’ top four hopes alive.

United equalised just after the half-hour mark, with David Ross rounding off a well created goal.

With news filtering through that Fraserburgh were losing in Nairn, the visitors knew the importance of a victory and they got their second when Stuart Soane rose highest to head the ball past Greig Sim from a corner.

Brora 0 Cove rangers 1

Early on, Craig Campbell fired over the bar for Brora.

Cove’s Mitch Megginson was the one to make the breakthrough, although his finish owed a lot to Dean Lawrie, whose cross took a couple of deflections on its way to the league’s top scorer.

John Sheran’s men navigated the second period with ease, while awaiting confirmation that Spartans claimed the Lowland League title to become their playoff opponents.

BUCKIE 6 lossiemouth 0

Buckie made the breakthough in the 20th minute when Jay Cheyne jinked into position to place the ball past Blair Moir.

The second goal flew past Moir at a rate of knots from the boot of Andy Macaskill on the half-hour. Steven Ross added No.3 four minutes into the second half, then netted his second soon after. Declan Milne make an instant impact as a sub, netting with his first touch of the game just 66 seconds after entering the fray. Andy Macaskill waltzed around Blair Moir before rolling home his second of the afternoon for No.6.

CLACHNACUDDIN 3 Deveronvale 3

The Lilywhites took the lead on five minutes as Daniel Maclennan lashed the ball low into the corner. Three players who were in the same school team combined to level in nine minutes as Harry Noble headed wide to Kyle Gauld and he crossed for Robert Scott to slot home from close range.

The hosts led for the second time shortly before the break when Maclennan cut in from the left and fired home his second.

The second half started with two goals to the Vale. Dane Ballard crossed for Scott to head home, then Ballard pounced on Grant Noble’s cross.

Maclennan’s cross was drilled into the net from 18 yards by Paul Smith as Clach levelled.

Ft william 0 Formartine 6

Formartine took the lead on 24 minutes, Scott Barbour rifling home Formartine’s 100th league goal of the season.

Barbour doubled his tally when he raced through and slotted it expertly into the bottom corner.

Rodger made it 3-0 shortly after, before Barbour completed his hattrick early in the second half, rolling the defender to fire to the keeper’s right.

Conor Gethins fired home No.5 from a penalty, leaving Andrew Greig to round off the scoring.

Huntly 3 rothes 0

Huntly led early on when Gary Mcgowan curled a free-kick into the top corner of trialist goalkeeper Dylan Gray’s net.

The hosts doubled their lead after 31 minutes when Cameron Booth bundled the ball in. Davidson came up with another assist just after the hour when a great delivery from a free-kick was sent deep into the back post for the on-loan Ryan Mcritchie to finish with a first-time delivery.

NAIRN 3 Fraserburgh 1

Nairn claimed a penalty when Callum Maclean was shoved to the ground by Willie West.

The hosts took the lead just before the break, Jordan Macrae heading home a cross.

With 54 minutes played, the referee pointed to the spot when Macrae went down under the challenge of West and the Nairn man got up to slot past Peter Tait.

The visitors pulled a goal back in 83 minutes when West headed home Paul Young’s cross.

Three minutes into added time, Macrae broke free before calmly slotting past Tait to complete his hat-trick.

strathspey 2 KEITH 3

Strathspey opened up a two-goal lead when Stewart Hutcheon fired home the opener from the edge of the box, and that was just two minutes before former Locos man Michael Selfridge made it 2-0. James Mcshane, the Jags hero against Lossie, started the comeback and Ashley Ballum came off the bench to make it 2-2. However, Keith regrouped and managed to snatch the victory with a goal just 60 seconds later through Selfridge.

WICK 1 Inverurie locos 3

Locos took a deserved lead two minutes before the break when Chris Angus capitalised on a loose ball and lashed it beyond Mccarthy from the edge of the box.

Academy equalised 10 minutes into the second half when Michael Steven rose highest to head home Gary Manson’s free-kick.

With 10 minutes left, Inverurie retook the lead through Angus’ second of the game.

With Wick pushing bodies forward in search of an equaliser, Martin Laing caught them short at the back to seal the three points.
