Voting is nearly complete for young HL POTY
Voting is nearly complete for the title of 2018 Highland League Young Player of the Year.
We have circulated all HFL clubs with a list of players eligible to win the Jim Macpherson Trophy, which is open to players who were aged under 21 on December 31 last year.
From there, each club’s players can vote for their outstanding youngster – as long as he’s not a team-mate.
Cove Rangers’ Harry Milne retained the award last year, pipping Callum Murray of Buckie Thistle and Formartine United’s Scott Ferries.
But age has caught up with the 21-year-old and he was ineligible to be considered this season!
We will announce the result of the vote shortly, and the winner will receive the trophy at the Highland Football League’s annual awards dinner in Nairn on Friday, May 25.
