I’ll never forget the horror of Jason’s fishnets!
WE’VE had musicals about Jerry Springer, giant talking plants and sweary puppets.
So a big-budget rock show about a Martian invasion isn’t that unusual if you ask me.
One of my favourite musicals of the past few years is War Of The Worlds. The stage show is set for a huge tour and I’ll definitely be heading along once more to see the Martians get their bahookies kicked. Those Tripods don’t have a leg to stand on!
The tour will star ex-neighbours actor and all-round stage legend Jason Donovan as Parson Nathaniel.
Jason’s an old pal and it’s true – we once swapped fishnets when I took over the role of Dr Frank-n-furter in The Rocky Horror Show from him many years ago.

I’ve been listening to the War Of The Worlds album the stage show is based on, which is No. 1 in the vinyl charts…just like in 1978!
Speaking of big stage shows, I have to wish my good pal Gary Barlow good luck. He should be arriving in Scotland any moment now ahead of what will be some brilliant shows.
The Take That genius will be playing Edinburgh’s Playhouse tomorrow and Tuesday. He’ll then be in Perth on Thursday, Dundee on Friday, and Aberdeen on Saturday.
I offered Gary my box room back in Glasgow to stay while he’s in Scotland – which is maybe why he’s avoiding the city! We said a sad farewell this week to my former MD at Radio Clyde, Alex Dickson. Chiefy was a one-off, you’d be terrified when you got a memo saying “Words Soonest!” but when you got a “Well done young Rossi” it made it all worthwhile. His Bookcase and Authors radio shows were broadcasting magic.
