A quirky park designed by Gaudi. Make sure you leave plenty of time to get there – but once you do, you’ll be enthralled. Around £6 to get in.
LAS RAMBLAS
Famous pedestrian area with shops and restaurants that runs through Barcelona. You can’t miss it; it’s the heart of the city.

Check out the Mercat de Sant Josep de la Boqueria, or La Boqueria. You can get here via an entrance along Las Ramblas.
NOU CAMP
FC Barcelona’s home since 1957 – and a must-see if you are a footie fan.
CASA MILÀ
Also known as La Pedrera, built by Gaudi is a sight to behold. Especially for Gaudi fans.
FOUNTAIN OF MONTJUÏC
Located at the head of Avinguda Maria Cristina in the Montjuïc neighbourhood; great if you have kids.
MONTJUÏC CASTLE
Large fortress located on the top of Montjuïc hill. The castle was built in the 17th century to hold political prisoners, a role which continued until the late 20th Century.
PARC DE LA CIUTADELLA
Once the only green spot in the city, the Parc de la Ciutadella remains a popular hub in Barcelona for outdoor sports and visits to the zoo.
AQUARIUM BARCELONA
One of the world’s best – you can even take a dive with some of the creatures.
OLYMPIC STADIUM
Built in 1929 ahead of a bid to host the 1936 Olympics, but history dictated it didn’t host the sport’s biggest event until 1992. Former home to football club Espanyol.
