The Sunday Post (Inverness)

Lots of effort, but no luck

- By Brian Fowlie SPORT@SUNDAYPOST.COM

TREVOR CARSON (7)

The goalkeeper has been a real find and did nothing wrong here. Produced an outstanding stop from Dembele.

CEDRIC KIPRE (6)

Promised he wouldn’t pick up another red card against Celtic. Kept his cool and stuck to the job in hand.

TOM ALDRED (6)

Unlucky to see a defensive header quickly swept into the net by Mcgregor.

CHARLES DUNNE (6)

Produced some precise and crucial tackles that stopped Celtic going ahead even earlier.

RICHARD TAIT (6)

Started on the left of midfield but was moved to right-back when Stephen Robinson went to a back four.

CARL MCHUGH (5)

Struggled to cope with the movement of Celtic’s midfield five. (GAEL BIGIRIMANA 55, 6. Provided a more creativity and hit bar with a free-kick.)

CHRIS CADDEN (6)

Started as a wing-back, reverted to an attacking midfielder and then pushed forward in the second half.

ALLAN CAMPBELL (6)

Will learn a lot from this. Great running power but needs to add better decisionmaking. (ELLIOT FREAR 78, 5. Tried to create an opening on the left but found it tough going.)

LIAM GRIMSHAW (5)

Can’t be faulted for effort, but sometimes that’s not enough to stop players with the ability to pass and move like Celtic.

RYAN BOWMAN (6)

Delivered his usual industrious performance but found it hard with his midfield colleagues unable to get close in support.

CURTIS MAIN (7)

Showed from the off he was prepared to chase the ball all afternoon. Created a decent chance that brought out a great stop by Gordon.

Unused – Griffiths, Hartley, Turnbull, Maguire, Petravicius.
