Is Grandad still around?

-

Dear June

I lost my grandad in November. I have a lot of dreams about him and have seen his name pop up when I’m out and about. My nana says she thinks she can feel his presence in her house. She feels a warm feeling when she is home alone and thinks it is Grandad. Is he OK and has he met up with anyone?

When a much-loved member of the family passes away, from that moment they are absent from our lives purely in the physical. They no longer have physical bodies but are still the same in character and will continue to be part of the family.

I get a strong sense he is with many past family members in spirit.

Our spirit loved ones are around us constantly but it takes the right conditions to be able to sense or see them. They mostly draw close while we are in dream state, as it’s the most relaxed time of day in our busy lives.

It’s during this time they make their presence known as there are no constant interruptions (phones ringing, TV, etc). Your nana will become aware of your grandad in her home when she is alone as it’s quiet without interruption. It is also where she is most relaxed and at ease.

He will be around the home to offer comfort. Whenever she thinks of him and feels sad, she will feel him draw close and surround her with the warmth of his love.

You will all sense him around you at different times as he will never be far away from the family he loves.

Dear June

The sudden death of our father was such a shock, especially for our mother, as they had been married for more than 62 years.

Prior to Dad’s death we did not believe in the spirit world, but reading your column has helped us understand there is an afterlife.

Our last words to Dad were “see you tomorrow”. But tomorrow never came.

All Mum and I want to know is that Dad is well.

The sudden passing of a loved one brings shock and devastation for the family left behind. Irrespective of how sudden and unexpected a loss can be, no one ever passes alone and relatives previously passed are always there to collect and support those they love.

Your dad will be taken care of and will remain close by the family he loves.

Think of him being on a long trip that one day you will also make. Remember on your arrival that your first vision will be his smiling face.
