Jose can bounce back and will fancy a spot of revenge

-

Jose Mourinho left Manchester United feeling unwelcome and unloved.

As a result, the cheeky grin we love to see from him has gone for the time being.

But I don’t think it will be long until Jose gets back to doing what he does best – winning trophies.

It has been reported that Mourinho is to hold talks with Inter Milan over returning to the San Siro.

Famously, there were tears when he walked away last time, with Italian World Cup Winner Marco Materazzi in bits over the Portuguese’s departure. He will be welcomed back with open arms. And if he finds a squad of players willing to work for him, I’ve no doubt he’ll be a success.

He didn’t have any support in the dressing room at Old Trafford. That’s what did for him.

It’s also why I think it will be interesting to see how United’s players react if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s good run since taking over starts to falter.

It’s easy to give your best when things are going well.

It’s not so simple when you’re up against it.

It wouldn’t surprise me, if United start to stumble, that it will start to be presented as Ole Gunnar’s fault.

They’ll say he wasn’t big enough for the job in the first place, and look for another big name.

Whatever happens, I’ll bet Jose can’t wait to face United again in Euro competition.

And who’d bet against him claiming his revenge?
