Gauld hits a double as Locos net six

turriff united 1 Inverurie locos 6

Inverurie Locos proved too strong for Turriff, blasting six goals past their hosts.

First-half sub Callum Dingwall fired the Red and Blacks ahead with a right-foot shot from range in the 21st minute.

Mark Souter’s close-range header made it 2-0, and Andy Hunter netted No. 3 in the space of nine minutes.

Cammy Bowden then pulled one back from point-blank range.

Early in the second half, Eric Watson scored from a similar range, but Locos soon went five up through the head of Neil Gauld.

Watson was reminded two yellow cards equals a red, but, soon after, Gauld lobbed home the sixth for the 10 men.

Deveronvale 4 Huntly 0

Deveronvale got off to the perfect start with the opening goal within 90 seconds when Craig Dorrat fouled Ross Archibald in the box and Grant Noble stroked home the penalty.

Neale Davidson should have equalised two minutes from the break, but, with only the keeper to beat, he fired wide.

Vale capitalised on the let-off when Jody Munro fired home from 17 yards just after the restart.

Vale made it 3-0 in the 56th minute through Michael Dunn after Craig Reid spilled a Robert Scott free-kick, then Scott rounded replacement keeper John Farquhar 15 minutes from time to fire home No. 4.

Fort William had a chance to open the scoring when they were awarded a penalty after two minutes of the game.

Roddy Kennedy failed to convert and Strathspey took advantage of that let-off when James Fraser fired them in front. Strathspey kept their lead intact, while preparing to pounce when the chance occurred – and it was wily old fox Craig Macmillan who duly added the second.

WICK ACADEMY 0 Formartine united 5

It took just eight minutes for Formartine’s opening goal to arrive, with Scott Lisle providing the finishing touch to a nice move.

Andrew Greig, often a tormentor of Wick in his days at Brora Rangers, doubled the lead midway through the first half.

Wick have been struggling with injury problems lately and their slightly makeshift starting XI never looked like getting back into the game, although Craig Gunn did force Errol Watson into a good save from a 25-yard free-kick.

Lisle made it 3-0 before halftime and Gary Mcgowan and Lisle’s hat-trick goal made it 5-0 before the hour mark.

Formartine took their foot off the gas in that final half-hour and were afforded the luxury of resting some players with tougher tests to come.

lossiemouth 0 rothes 3

Having won last week’s Moray derby against Forres, Rothes were able to repeat that feat when they won at Lossie.

The Speysiders were the better team in the first half and took the lead in the 12th minute when Craig Cormack’s cross was nodded home by Ally Sutherland.

Substitute Gary Kerr doubled the scoring shortly after entering the fray, although it took the linesman to confirm the ball had crossed the line.

Ben Johnstone put Rothes on easy street, heading in a corner.

Fraserburgh 6 CLACHNACUDDIN 0

Ryan Cowie’s fourth-minute ball into the area was met by Sean Butcher who right-footed home from six yards to open for Fraserburgh.

Four minutes later, Scott Barbour curled into the bottom corner from 18 yards for No. 2.

After almost an hour, without a further goal, the Broch scored three in four minutes.

Aidan Combe headed home a Barbour cross, Paul Campbell swept in an 18-yard effort, then Barbour lobbed the keeper. Campbell knocked home another Barbour assist from close range to put Fraserburgh top by a single goal.

Forres MECHANICS 1 Brora rangers 3

Steve Mackay’s Brora took the lead on the half-hour mark when a low right-footed effort from Paul Brindle squeezed past two defenders on its way to the righthand side of Stuart Knight’s goal.

Forres equalised through skipper Stuart Soane early in the second half, but Jordan Macrae and a Kyle Macleod penalty sealed the win and Brora’s 100% record.

KEITH 2 BUCKIE thistle 8

Buckie were ahead inside three minutes through Scott Adams and, despite Keith levelling through Jamie Mcallister, the Jags scored two quickfire goals at the end of the half.

Sam Robertson and Craig Cowie were the marksmen and, early in the second half, Kieran Adams turned home their fourth goal. Sam Urquhart helped himself to a double, then Caz Murray and Scott Graham put Buckie 8-1 up. Cammy Keith then scored for the hosts from the spot.
