NAIRN COUNTY were the day’s top scorers, beating visiting DEVERONVALE 7-2. Two hat-tricks contributed to the win. Liam Shewan scored in 13, 53 and 59 (pen) minutes, with Max Ewan’s treble coming in 25, 66 and 82 minutes. Glenn Main was their other scorer. Vale’s goals came from Kyle Gauld and Harry Noble. Vale goalie Grant Pennett was sent off for tripping Shewan as he was about to tap in.

Man of many clubs Scott Graham returned to Merkinch in midweek and he marked his debut by netting the winner as CLACHNACUDDIN came from a goal down to claim just their second league win of the season against STRATHSPEY THISTLE.

Liam Taylor rounded off a great team move to put the visitors ahead, but Clach battled back and were able to restore the equilibrium thanks to Martin Callum. It was Graham who was fated to be the headline grabber, his deflected effort from the edge of the box finding the net. HUNTLY have the top 10 in their sights after another victory at a muddy Christie Park. The Black and Golds raced in front when pacy Cove loanee Nathan Meres profited from a high press to nip in and sidefoot home in 17 minutes. LOSSIEMOUTH deservedly levelled in the final minute of the half with Fraser Forbes ignoring claims of a foul to coolly finish. Huntly regained the lead 10 minutes after the turnaround and Meres was the catalyst again, his great ball into the danger area being touched over the line by Declan Milne. Hosts ROTHES beat TURRIFF UNITED 3-0. Ross Jack faced his former charges and came out comfortably on top, thanks to goals from Fraser Robertson, Gregg Main’s 20-yard free-kick and Steven Anderson’s halfvolley. With this win, Rothes secured a clean sheet to move to within five points of joint leaders Brora and Inverurie. FRASERBURGH eased past a tame WICK ACADEMY 2-0 to move up to third in the Highland League table thanks to goals from Paul Campbell and Scott Barbour – his 150th goal for the club.
