Fraserburgh surrendered their top-of-the-table spot when they shared the points with visiting Formartine.

After a goalless first 45 minutes, it was The Broch who found a route to goal right on the hour mark.

Ryan Cowie’s ball in from the left went all the way through to Owen Cairns, who drilled a shot from 15 yards that flew into the top right-hand corner of the net. Veteran forward Connor Gethins made his mark as a substitute when he headed Graeme Rodger’s cross from the right into the bottom corner to ensure a share of the points – to the benefit of his former club Brora.

After six minutes, Dale Gillespie flicked through to Andrew Macrae, who chipped over the advancing Fraser Hobday.

Jordan Macrae rifled home the second for the Cattachs, then, right on half-time, James Wallace ran on to a Gillespie through-ball to find the corner of the net.

Brora’s unrelenting pressure told in 74 minutes when sub Paul Brindle netted from close range in a crowded goalmouth after a clever build-up.

Macrae netted his second with a well-placed effort into the corner of the net, then completed his hat-trick from close range. Player-manager Steven Mackay headed home a seventh as his side moved to the top of the league.

Ross Jack’s Rothes failed to claim all three points for the first time since his arrival.

Forres went ahead six minutes before half-time when Allan Macphee’s cross was headed home at the near post by Lee Fraser.

The floodlights briefly went out halfway through the second half, but play resumed after a sevenminute delay.

The Speysiders levelled when some clever play culminated in Ally Sutherland feeding the ball into the path of Craig Cormack, who slotted past one-time Rothes transfer target Stuart Knight.

NAIRN County huntly 1

Nairn fought back from a goal down to dump Huntly at Station Park.

The visitors opened the scoring on 12 minutes. Nathan Meres cut in from the left and dragged a low effort into the net at the near post from 15 yards.

The hosts drew level from a penalty through Adam Porritt after a shove by Alexander Thoirs on Max Ewan in the box on 34 minutes.

Liam Shewan then advanced in on Huntly goalkeeper Euan Storrier on 38 minutes, but the stopper came out on top with a block.

Kenny Mckenzie put Nairn in front on 51 minutes with a low raking shot into the bottom righthand corner from 18 yards.

Nairn goalkeeper Will Counsell made a great save soon after from Kai Ross to keep his side in front.

Storrier also excelled at the other end with a superb block off Glenn Main after he had been picked out by Ewan.

Ewan himself then beat three men on 73 minutes, but his low shot was blocked by Storrier.

Nairn made sure of the points on 76 minutes. Gordon Mcnab’s quick free-kick sent Scott Davidson to the by-line on the right and his low ball across was turned home by Huntly defender Bradley Manson.

Keith Clachnacuddin 3

Clachnacuddin made it back-toback league wins for the first time this season as they recovered from the loss of goal from the penaltyspot midway through the first half, Cammy Keith adding another to his personal tally.

Ross Logan sprung the offside trap to level before half-time, then the young winger produced a pinpoint cross for John Cameron to head home his first goal following a switch form Strathspey Thistle.

The win was secured in the dying stages by another wonderful Logan run, leaving two defenders on their backsides before firing home from 16 yards.

Vale started on the front foot and went ahead after nine minutes when Colin Charlesworth played the ball across the face of goal for Robert Scott to net from eight yards.

Harry Noble blasted the ball over from 10 yards when an indirect free-kick was played back to him by Charlesworth, before home goalkeeper James Blanchard twice kept his team in front, saving from Alan Farquhar and Jack Halliday before the break.

The second half was a low-key affair, with very little in the way of clear-cut chances created.

The best fell again to Halliday, but Blanchard again denied the Wick substitute with a fine diving save before Wick grabbed an equaliser in time-added when Jack Henry netted from six yards out.
