Police hunting for thug who shot cat
Police are hunting a thug thought to have shot and injured a pet cat. An appeal was launched yesterday after the black cat was found near Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, on Thursday morning with a wound suspected to have been caused by a “shotgun or similar firearm”.
The two-year-old pet, called Neve, survived the injury but
X-rays found metal fragments which were later removed.
Constable Barry Taylor, of Peebles Police Station, said: “This incident has not only caused significant injuries to a family pet but also a great deal of distress and upset to her owner.
“Neve is fortunately well enough to be allowed to return home but may face longer-term issues.”
