Ruff justice, but Eileen’s dogs didn’t damage her new Dacia
Eileen Mcdonald, from Arbroath, was unhappy when it was suggested her dogs had damaged her car.
In July she took her new Dacia Logan to Arnold Clark in Dundee as the boot lever had stopped working.
“I was informed my dogs had chewed the boot lever box and lever and, as such, this was not covered under warranty,” said Eileen. “We only bought the car in January. I disputed any damage was done by my dogs. There isn’t one mark or any damage to be seen in the car, and my dogs are not chewers.”
Eileen has had a number of Rottweilers as pets down the years and her latest dogs Marsha and Carrie were very well trained, she said. “Marsha has a gold Good Citizen award from the Kennel Club and Carrie is doing her bronze level training. They are rescue dogs and are lovely pets. They are properly trained and wouldn’t cause any damage. There wasn’t a mark in my car.” Eileen was further annoyed when she was presented with a bill for £58.80, which would have to be paid before the car was released. Her husband tried to question the charge but the couple felt their complaint was not being listened to.
We spoke to Dacia on Eileen’s behalf. The company moved quickly and liaised with Arnold Clark to resolve the issue. The repair has been arranged to be done for free and the Mcdonalds were also given their £58.80 back.
