Stevie-g hails Beale one of his best signings

Michael Beale has been one of the best captures made by Rangers in recent years.

The first-team coach is often seen playing a prominent part on the sidelines during games.

He was brought to Ibrox by Steven Gerrard after the pair met while working in the Liverpool youth system, and the manager admits Beale deserves a lot of credit for the club’s current success.

Beale, a former assistant manager of Sao Paulo in Brazil, is seen as the man who implements the manager’s ideas on the training pitch.

He also monitors the tactical battle that unfolds during matches.

Gerrard said: “Mick has been fantastic for us and one of my best signings for sure.

“He’s so important to me, to us and to the club. He’s got incredible experience for where he’s at in his own career.

“But he plays an important role within our staff team.

“When I was offered this opportunity I had to put the right people in the right places to support me.

“Mick, Gary Mcallister, Tom Culshaw, Jordan Milsom, Colin Stewart, my analysts and everyone around that is doing a brilliant job.

“That allows me to do what I do.” Gerrard admits the current 26-game unbeaten run is better than he could have imagined.

He said: “There’s no getting away from the fact that the boys have started the season really well, but I think we’ve actually gone beyond that now. “We’re in the middle of December and they’re continually pushing the boundaries.

“I’d have certainly taken this and signed up to it before a ball was kicked.

“It was always going to take time to build this, with the amount of changes and what we’ve needed to go through.

“The challenge for us all now is to work even harder and keep pushing each other more to maintain it.

“Where we’re at now, everyone wants to knock us out of our stride.”

Gerrard has rubbished talk of Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour arriving on loan but has confirmed the club is looking to sign 18-year-old Colombian striker Juan Alegria from Finnish side FK Honka.

He is one for the future and likely to go back out on loan if the deal goes through.
