YEAR

- W ITH JANE R IN THE STARS IDDER-PATR ICK

The conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius in December at the 2020 winter solstice marks an important change in focus that will affect us all. For the last 200 years these two planets met every 20 years in earth signs, bringing an emphasis on materialism, practical advances in science and engineering and consumption, while the coming 200-year cycle in air signs is likely to be taken up with matters of ethics, equality and exchange.

On January 17, expansive Jupiter squares up to innovative Uranus and there could be some changes and innovation in the areas of travel and education that have long-term financial implications.

Saturn also squares up to Uranus in February, June and December, bringing tussles between rules and regulations and the desire for freedom and social reform.this begins the final phase of the cycle that started in 1988-1989 when the Berlin Wall fell. The north node, often called the destiny path, which outlines the direction of growth, is in Gemini until January 2022 and it calls for logic and facts rather than exaggeration, and overconfidence. This could bring an increasing distaste for fake news and more measures taken to overcome it.

Venus is retrograde in Capricorn from December 19 to January 29 2022, prompting us to think deeply about our aspirations and reconsider our values around governance and the long term management of the world’s resources.

The year will see a change in focus that will affect

us all
