Alittlebitof accountability is no bad thing
£25 STAR LETTER
I understand why Judy Murray thinks politics should be kept out of the vaccine rollout but disagree.
Governments are doing their best but some are doing better than others and it is quite right that they should be held to account.
There are some things that have come up that were just so unprecedented that no one would blame politicians for stumbling a little but putting in place an efficient programme to vaccinate the population isn’t one of them. I’m glad that Scotland seems to be getting back on track after a sticky start but it might have taken longer if ministers weren’t being asked to account for themselves.

No denying it
Do you know what really gets on my nerves? Couples wandering through parks holding hands and forcing every other person in the world to jump onto the grass to get outoftheirway.
It’s not even Love’s Young Dream, they’re all ages, and plenty old enough to know better. Then when you’re standing in the mud waiting for them to waft past, they look at you as if to ask what you’re up to? Maybe, I’m just jealous but it’s not only the lovie-dovies. The groups of dog walkers all meeting up in the middle of the path to talk about their little furry darlings get on my goat too. By the time, I get back from the park, I need a drink. I had to smile at your headline “Trump to be denied intelligence data”. That probably explains why he’s not the brightest intellect in the world. In fact, I doubt if he’s the brightest light in his own household.

Hypocrite in Aisle 3
I work in essential retail and have noticed a lot of hypocrisy lately.
Aladywasinourstoreafew days ago making a song and dance about a fellow customer, who it turned out was actually mask exempt. He didn’t have a visible lanyard and this lady thought he was putting other shoppers at risk.
The lady complaining has shopped in the store twice a day, every day, despite us all being told only to shop for essentials as infrequently as possible to stop the spread. Hypocrisy at its finest. Clive Shutler, by email
Maw’s hard stair
I tremble to disagree with Maw Broon and spoil a good story but we always washed the stairs from the top down!

Turn it down
I agree with Margaret Gill about loud music on TV programmes when people are commentating.
David Attenbrough’s The Planet Series would have been very good without the music drowning his voice out. I did mention this to the BBC some years ago, they said their mailbag was full of such complaints but nothing has been done to improve the situation. Even some new series have loud music drowning out the speech. I switch off or change channels.
