Rose run riot as Arniston are routed

BONNYRIGG ROSE crashed in nine goals as they thumped ARNISTON RANGERS 9-1, with eight of the goals coming in the

second half.

John Shearer put Rangers ahead when he lobbed the Rose keeper in the first minute, but Neil Martyniuk levelled on 24 minutes. It was oneway after the interval with Lee Currie (2), Bradley Barrett (2), Evans (2), Keiran Hall and an own goal bringing the tally to nine.

Cup holders DUNIPACE are out, beaten 3-1 by SAUCHIE JUNIORS. David Cross put Sauchie ahead midway through the first half, but David Morrison got the equaliser on the interval. Brian Morgan restored Sauchie’s lead 10 minutes after the restart and, minutes later, Chic Bell saved a Pace penalty and Sam Davidson added No. 3 for the visitors.

EASTHOUSES LILY went ahead against SPARTANS early on, but the scores were soon level when Cammy Russell slotted home. Kevin Waugh, Blair Henderson and Jamie Dishington then made it 4-1.

EAST KILBRIDE got a 3-0 win over LARKHALL THISTLE with goals from Aiden Mcdonald, Lee Miller and sub Jack Stainrod.

GALA FAIRYDEAN ROVERS bounced back for a 3-1 win over WHITBURN JUNIORS, who went ahead early on. But Zander Murray equalised from a penalty and then John Chalmers grabbed a brace.

BERWICK RANGERS went down 4-3 on penalties against BROXBURN ATHLETIC after a 1-1 draw. The visitors went ahead through Andrew Mair in the 54th minute, but Calum Smith levelled.

JEANFIELD SWIFTS beat last year’s beaten finalists BROOMHILL 2-0. Gary Fergus headed them ahead after nine minutes and, seven minutes later, Chris Mcleish got the second.

Lowland side CUMBERNAUL­D COLTS coasted through 2-0 against ROSYTH with goals from Sean Winter and Shaun Brown.

STIRLING UNI beat BURNTISLAN­D SHIPYARD 3-1 after extra time. They fought back after the Shipyard men went ahead with a Benji Marshall goal. Uni got a stoppage-time equaliser with a Matthew Burrows header and in extra time James Berry and Connor Doan clinched the tie for Stirling.

CALEDONIAN BRAVES beat KENNOWAY STAR HEARTS 4-0.
