1 PERTH FESTIVAL OF ARTS An annual 11-day festival every May, attracting big names such as Jools Holland and KT Tunstall. 2 BORDERS BOOK FESTIVAL Four days of talk, food & drink, comedy and live music for all of the family at Harmony Garden in Melrose every June. 3 NATURE PHOTOGRAPH­Y FESTIVAL A weekend in September featuring presentati­ons from top speakers covering a variety of topics. 4 GLASGOW FILM FESTIVAL The February festival has establishe­d itself as one of the most popular film fests in the UK with world premieres and star guests. 5 DUNDEE FLOWER AND FOOD FESTIVAL The Scotch broth championsh­ip and Dundee cake contest are just two of many events at the September event. 6 SNOWDROP FESTIVAL Gathering together some of the best gardens and woodland where you can take a walk and see swathes of the little flowers. 7 GLASGOW COMEDY FESTIVAL Across 18 days in March the city attracts the biggest names in comedy as well as film, kids’ events and workshops. 8 ABERDEEN INTERNATIO­NAL YOUTH FESTIVAL Showcasing more than 1000 young internatio­nal and local performers in the field of culture and arts from July 29-Aug 6. 9 CELTIC CONNECTION­S The world’s largest roots and world music festival has now been running for more than 20 years and attracts hundreds of musicians from across the globe for unique gigs. 10 ISLAY FESTIVAL OF MUSIC AND MALT The island plays host to a diverse programme, featuring traditiona­l music, ceilidhs, Gaelic lessons, golf, bowling and whisky tasting at the end of May.
