Smiles of The week

-

GOLDEN GREATS

The medals have started flowing for Team GB at the Olympics. But even those who haven’t got a gong deserve our admiration. You’re all winners in our eyes!

GET WET

It may have been a bit, errr, damp lately, but why not make the most of it by grabbing a brolly and going for a walk in the rain? So relaxing.

RESULT!

Many teens got their exam results last week. If you got what you wanted, well done! If not, please don’t worry – you’re young and there are always ways to get where you want to be.

hol over now

It’s the end of the school hols for lots of kids. You might be sad (or relieved!) to see them go back, but hopefully you made plenty of happy memories together over the break.

BIRTHDAY BRIDGE

The Tay Road Bridge is 50 this week. Altogether now – “Happy birthday ‘Tay’ you”!

book-a-oke

A library in Finland wants people to sing their hearts out in a soundproofed karaoke booth. Presumably anything by Eddi Reader will be well received.

HEAT IS ON

So it seems hot weather is just around the corner. Make the most of it – this could be the last sun we see this year!

WRITE STUFF

Edinburgh Book Festival is in full swing. If you love a good book, this is the WRITE fest for you!

TWEET TALK

Almost a quarter of pet owners surveyed in Europe admit that their pet has its own social media account. Presumably budgies use Twitter . . .

CREATE JOY

Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort.
