WITH panoramic views stretching far and wide, David Russell could see his life mapped out before him from his stunning converted home.

But sometimes there can be an unexpected change in direction – and that’s what has led David and his family to sell the four-bedroom house they built as their “keeper”.

David, who owns a building firm with wife Hazel, bought Easter Cornhill, which sits high on the hills above the village of Dollar in Clackmanna­nshire, six years ago. They refurbishe­d the existing property and then added a pair of stunning twostorey extensions to the east and west to create a contempora­ry family home in a picturesqu­e setting.

David said: “The original house was refurbishe­d and the east extension – which has a games room and office, a bedroom suite upstairs and a glass atrium – in 2011 and by 2013 we had done the west extension, which has a family room and open-plan kitchen.

“That’s the part of the house everyone is blown away by when they see it. There are views up to 40 miles away.

“You can see the fireworks going off at Edinburgh Castle and then further west you can see Falkirk and in the far distance the twinkling lights of Cumbernaul­d.

“The house is the highest habitable property in Clackmanna­nshire, but the roads leading to it are good.

“We did all of the work ourselves. It was a case of doing it at weekends and evenings and trying to
