LIVINGSTON 5 CELTIC COLTS 1

-

LIVINGSTON got off to a dream start and were three goals to the good within 16 minutes.

Five minutes in, Liam Buchanan latched on to a Josh Mullin pass and found the bottom corner with a 16-yard effort.

Buchanan doubled the lead from the spot eight minutes later after Danny Mullen was bundled over in the box by Anthony Ralton.

The third followed shortly after as Sean Cright on’ st owe ring header from a Josh Mullin header left Ross Doohan in the Celtic goal with no chance.

There was then a brief respite for the shellshocked Celtic youngsters but this was not to last as, 20 minutes later, it was 4-0.

Buchanan this time turned provider as he capitalised on a poor backpass and unselfishly laid the ball into Danny Mullen’s path. Mullen finished past Doohan with some aplomb.

Star of th e show Buchanan completed his hat-trick in 40 minute. An initial effort was well saved but the ball found its way back to the onform marksman and, although his shot took a deflection, his effort always looked goal-bound.

The travelling Celtic fans were to be given something to cheer about before half-time, though, and it was the pick off the first- half goals – a thundering 20-yard shot from Regan Hendry flying into the top right corner.

The hosts took the foot of the gas in the second half and looked content to sit in and allow Celtic to play in front of them.

The Glasgow side looked dangerous at times and there were flashes of promise from Aid an Nesbitt and Calvin Miller – with home goalie Gary Maley doing well to save a Miller effort on 62 minutes.
