Moussa and K.T. ‘will only get better’

- By Danny Stewart sport@sundaypost.com

HE was likened to Didier Drogba after scoring twice against Manchester City.

But Moussa Dembele has been warned he is still a long way off the level of the two-time African Footballer of the Year.

Celtic team- mate Erik Sviatchenko regularly goes head- to- head with the Frenchman in training and says he can see why Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers raves about his potential.

With the player just 20 years old, though, he reckons talk of a big money move to the English Premier League as early as the January transfer window are premature.

“Mo ussa is a good player now, as he showed against City, but he’s not complete yet,” he said.

“As a defender, I would say his physicality and his speed make him a nightmare.

“He is also dominant in the air.

“However, he is a young guy and he still has things in his game he needs to improve.

“I do think he can become one of the good players because of the way he is working hard to get better.

“After training he is always staying behind to improve his finishing after training and you see it pays off on the pitch.

“Likewise, his link- up play with the rest of the team is getting better and better.

“He gets where he needs to be in the box, so I think he can become one of the really good players.

“It is probably just a question of time with him.”

The same, the Norwegian believes, applies to Kieran Tierney, one of his defensive partners.

“KT you could see against Manchester City had learned something from Barcelona,” he said.

“That’s good to see, players taking that into the next game.

“I think likewise he’s not there yet but he’s getting better every game.

“It’s so nice to have a left back who has speed and that composure that you need to have.

We are looking good on that side.

“Now we need to keep on working and be relentless in the domestic league and show our skills in the Champions League.”
