Young burglar Kevin needs to raise money fast to pay back a local thug, so he breaks into the house of eccentric pensioner Philip, hoping to ransack the property of its valuables.

Unfortunat­ely, Kevin discovers Philip is no pushover and the old-timer holds him hostage – at gunpoint – determined to protect his home with deadly force if required.

The lifeless body of a henchman conceals a cryptic message and fragment of a photograph from a madman who has been targeting kingpin Alphonse Hoyt’s operation.

Hoyt doesn’t know who is targeting him, or why, and he places his trust in Victor (Colin Farrell).
