smiles of The week

prince’s platters

Prince Charles has officially opened his own restaurant in Aberdeenshire. Presumably the food will have to be fit for a (future) king.

from The heart

A reader wrote in to tell us he found an old faded note in a drawer. It said “I love you to the moon and back, daddy”. His daughter, who wrote it as a five-yearold, is now 46, but it still had the power to give him a lump in his throat.

Treat Time

Two smile suggestions – treat yourself to something nice this week . . . then treat someone else to something nice.

funny money

One of the iN10 team got their first plastic fiver the other day. We’re sure it’s legal tender, but it doesn’t half feel like toy money.

chocs away!

A food expert has predicted that the next big trend will be eating chocolate cake for breakfast, after recent studies on the cognitive benefits of dark choc. For once we’re already ahead of the crown on a new craze!

supergran

At 95 American granny Bettie Butler decided to celebrate her birthday by going on her first ever skydive. Well done – but rather her than us.

mr who

Doctor Who is to be re-imagined as Mr Men book characters. Hopefully there will be CyberMisterMen too!

have a hug

Have you hugged someone today? No? Well there’s still plenty of time to brighten someone’s day with a cuddle.

lovely leaves

At last the leaves are turning crimson and gold. Hello, Autumn, you lovely thing you.

keep going

Perseverance is not a long race – it is many short races one after the other.
