Black Hyacinth ‘Midnight Mystic’ ®

Thompson & Morgan first introduced the Black Hyacinth in 2004, having paid a world record price of £250,000 for 3 bulbs in 1999.

Only a very limited number of bulbs available until now.

When I first saw the amazing Hyacinth, I had no doubt in my mind that it would sell anywhere in the world and it has - with record sales. You can now buy eight premium sized, quality bulbs for the same price as one when it was first introduced. I guarantee, when you see the black scented flowers you will be mesmerised, so be quick and order your bulbs now for November delivery.

Rare and highly sought after -

this is the first and original black hyacinth! Available again due to popular demand - you won’t find this variety for sale anywhere else! Launched to a frenzy of interest at the Chelsea Flower Show, Hyacinth ‘Midnight Mystic’ was soon completely sold out. A real breakthrough in breeding, Thompson & Morgan spent 16 years developing just three mother bulbs and the result is this stunning, unusual hardy black hyacinth with a heavenly scent. Try it in a pot or grow it in beds and borders. Either way, make sure it’s on show for all to enjoy. Height :20 cm (8”). Spread :8 cm (3”). Bulbsize:15/16.

For the darkest black blooms, Hyacinth ‘Midnight Mystic’ must be grown outdoors, as flowers will appear purple in colour when ‘forced’ for indoor cultivation. Dispatch November.
