CONOR McLAUGHLIN snatched a deserved point at the death for Fleetwood Town as they drew 2-2 at AFC Wimbledon.

The Cod Army took an early lead when Cian Bolger powered home from a corner after 12 minutes, for his first league goal of the season.

Fleetwood were dominant and the lead was almost doubled when Bobby Grant beat James Shea from 25 yards, only to see his effort crash against the far post.

But Wimbledon came out fighting in the second half, and sub Tom Elliott had an instant impact as his header from Dean Parrett’s corner deflected in.

And they looked to have sealed the win 15 minutes from time when Parrett sent Alex Cairns the wrong way, after Joe Davis had fouled Elliott.

However, Fleetwood would not lie down and continued to apply pressure, getting their reward through McLaughlin in time added on, heading in Jack Sowerby’s corner.

Zac Clough’s seventh goal of the campaign was enough to hand Bolton a 1-0 win at Northampton, to please boss Phil Parkinson.

“It was a great win for us, this was a dangerous place to come because they were doing really well earlier in the season and were up in the playoffs,” said Parkinson,

“That’s probably the hardest three points we’ve picked up and my team had to show both sides of their game.”

A stoppage-time equaliser from Patrick Bauer ensured a point for Karl Robinson in his first game as Charlton boss, after Mark Duffy had given visitors Sheffield United the lead.

Leaders Scunthorpe were held to a 1-1 draw by Oxford, after Phil Edwards cancelled out Duane Holmes goal for the Iron.
