Davina’s strict Big Brother baby planning
PRESENTER Davina McCall has confirmed all three of her children have September birthdays because she didn’t want to miss hosting Big Brother.
McCall, who has two daughters and a son with husband Matthew Robertson, admitted the meticulous planning when she appeared on Desert Island Discs.
She told Kirsty Young: “I love Big Brother so much and the idea of someone else presenting it was ‘over my dead body’.
“So I said to Matthew ‘ We are not trying for a baby until after December so there we are, three birthdays in September.”
McCall presented the reality show for its 11 series run on Channel 4 between 2000 and 2010, as well as Celebrity Big Brother between 2001 and 2010.
She was once even spotted wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with “Big Mutha” when was heavily pregnant on the hit programme.
McCall, who has battled drug addiction, told Young she found it difficult to relax as a parent because she didn’t want to make the same mistakes as her own addict mother.
She admitted: “I was constantly just trying to be perfect, I was so uptight.
“I thought I was being relaxed but I was desperate not to repeat the same mistakes.
“I was trying to be everything and you can’t.
“I had to let go of the reins a bit.”
