Now’s the right time to bag a home improvement bargain

-

SANTA has delivered all his goodies for this year – but that doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself with a bargain in the postChristmas sales.

And it’s not just electronics and clothes that have had their prices slashed – a lot of home improvements companies are having sales.

At this time of year, many people spend more time at home and it can become obvious that changes and upgrades are needed around the house.

The cold weather could reveal draughts caused by older style windows or that the heating is in need of an upgrade.

Hosting friends and family at Christmas might reveal it’s time for an extension or conservatory to create some extra space.

And once the decorations come down, the house could look a bit bare, so new carpets, flooring or a fresh coat of paint could give rooms a lift.

Or maybe the kitchen is in need of a face-lift after years of Christmas dinners and Boxing Day leftover feasts.

Whatever project you want to tackle, with businesses getting involved in Boxing Day and January sales there’s a raft of bargains out there to take advantage of.

Some businesses have been known to offer up to 25% off the cost of kitchens or bathrooms (usually depending on how much the total bill comes to) while others choose to throw in extras – such as appliances, furniture or extra cabinets – free of charge.

The best thing about home improvement shopping during the sales is that you don’t need to get the work done straight away – you can arrange for it to be done when it best suits you, even if it’s a month or two down the line.

So if you’re looking to make some changes around the house in 2016, now could be the right time to bag yourself the best of deals.
