The Family Stone Film4, 5.10pm, Tue
They say it’s better to give than to receive and the characters in this festive comedy are certainly very generous – with scathing insults, sarcasm and mocking one-liners.
The Family Stone is a beautifully written and acted ensemble piece reflecting modern concerns.
The Stag Film4, 11.25pm, Tue
Groom-to-be Fionnan is a metrosexual, who’d rather attend a hen party with his fiancee Ruth than suffer the horrors of a stag do.

Gentler than The Hangover, The Stag elicits plenty of wry smiles.
The Imitation Game Film4, 9pm, Wed
Based on a biography by Andrew Hodges, this movie is a handsomely crafted tribute to Enigma codebreaker Alan Turing, whose invaluable contribution to the war effort was besmirched by bigotry.
Oscar-nominee Benedict Cumberbatch is mesmerising as Turing.

Muriel (Toni Collette) lives in the not-so salubrious Australian town of Porpoise Spit and, while listening to Abba songs, hankers after finding Mr Right.
