When the house next door goes up for sale and booze-guzzling fraternity boys move in, they fear the worst.

It may have a thin premise, but Nicholas Stoller’s potty-mouthed comedy has a likeable cast and lots of good gags.

The English Patient

Oscar-winning epic telling the tale of a badly burned plane-crash survivor, who is waiting for death in Second World War Italy.

Ralph Fiennes delivers a measured performanc­e as the eponymous, enigmatic character, Kristin Scott Thomas is coolly elegant as his lover. Juliette Binoche and Willem Dafoe so-star.

Hanna

Sixteen-year-old Hanna lives in Scandinavi­a with her father Erik who has raised her to become the perfect killing machine.

Day after day, she hones the fighting skills she will need for the perilous mission that lies ahead: to execute ruthless CIA agent (Cate Blanchett).

Once she is trained and primed for action, Hanna embarks on her quest.

One-eyed, over-the-hill US Marshal Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) reluctantl­y agrees to help young Mattie track down her father’s killer.

The quest is complicate­d by a Texas Ranger, who is also on the murderer’s trail, and a host of villains who have few qualms about disposing of the youngster and Coburn.

Parker

Profession­al thief Parker (Jason Statham) accepts a job to steal a cool $1.5 million, aided by an untested four-strong crew. During the robbery, they turn on Parker, leaving him for dead.

Miraculous­ly, Parker survives multiple gunshot wounds and tracks the treacherou­s crew to Florida.

Hello Quo

Feature length portrait of Status Quo. It’s a fitting tribute to guitarist Rick Parfitt, who died last month.
