Billy has passed the test for being a wonderful person

-

A grand season is springtime, With its colours, sights and sounds,

Wildlife now awakening, All around new life abounds; Trees of green do bright blossom, Flowers ablaze, birds chirp and sing, Frolicking lambs beneath blue skies,

Oh we love the pleasures of spring.

BILLY sells his skills as a driving instructor, so time really is money as far as he is concerned.

Which is why I am constantly surprised to hear he is giving away those valuable hours, either to someone who needs a job to get a licence, someone

PAUL was a bit of a “player” in his younger days – until he met Joanne, fell in love and all that fooling around just disappeared.

They have been together for about 15 years and would you believe it took me all that time to notice the couple had matching wedding rings?

Paul removed his ring – briefly – to show it to me and I noticed the impression it left behind. There was a distinct, smooth groove worn around the top of his ring finger that would take some time to fade, should he ever leave the ring off. But his next comment confirmed the change in the man and assured me that him leaving it off was very unlikely to happen.

“I didn’t shape my wedding ring,” he told me, “but it has left its mark on me. Marriage, Joanne and this ring have shaped me. Into a better man.” trying to take their business mobile, someone who needs to be able to transport a sick family member, and so on.

Giving away what you can spare is one thing, giving away the very way you make your living is another. I’m sure Billy passed his driving test and his advanced driving test many years ago. Now, if only there was a test for being an advanced human being or for driving a heart beautifully. I’m sure he would pass with flying colours!

LARISSA is a young mum who has been on kidney dialysis for the past two years. Then a young man, for whatever reason, attempted to take his own life. While he was brain-dead, his family asked he be kept on life-support so his organs might help someone else. Can you imagine making that decision?

A friend of the family told a friend of Larissa and, this past week, a successful kidney transplant was carried out. She now has a good chance of growing old and seeing her daughter grow up.

A life was lost, but a grieving family made sure others were saved and changed for the better. Hope from hopelessness. Life from death.

Whoever that family were, and all those who find themselves in similar situations (regardless of their decision), you have my love, sympathy and utmost respect. God bless!
