TORY MP Anna Soubry has a reputation for speaking her mind and so it was when she met Paisley SNP MSP George Adam.

The pair locked horns at a joint Holyrood and Westminster meeting where, it is fair to say, some were not prepared for Mr Adam’s direct but cheery approach to life.

Speaking afterwards, Miss Soubry said to Mr Adam: “I quite liked you in the pre-meeting but that opinion has changed.” She added: “Are you part of the provisional wing of the SNP?”.

We assume they didn’t swap numbers after that.
