Committee dismay at ‘distrust’
A HOLYROOD committee has called for an end to the “clear distrust” between groups tackling Scotland’s worst wildlife crimes.
Environment, climate change and land reform committee convener Graeme Dey said in a letter that the issue is “everyone’s problem”.
Mr Dey did not single out particular organisations for criticism but said he was alarmed at how they seemed to be working together.
He said: “Wildlife crime, wherever it takes place, is unacceptable. Tackling this issue effectively requires collaborative working and the committee was disappointed to see the clear distrust and tension between some of those whose participation is so essential.”
