F1 ace’s bid to fight off dementia

-

FORMULA One legend Sir Jackie Stewart has launched a campaign to raise money for dementia research – in a bid to save his wife.

Lady Helen, Sir Jackie’s partner of 55 years, was diagnosed with the illness last year.

And now the racing ace has embarked on a fresh drive to cure the debilitating condition, which affects around 45 million people globally.

He started the charity Race Against Dementia last year and hopes to connect with the best research talent from around the world.

He added: “I need this new generation of the real geniuses to break this new ground, to look at it in a completely different way, but they will need the tools.”
