Grown-up ways to wear pink

-

Think pink when you go clothes shopping this week.

EVERYTHING is coming up rosy – as pink stages a ladylike comeback for spring.

Forget the notion that pink should be saved for cupcakes, candyfloss, babies and Barbie dolls – this season’s shades have gone all grown-up.

From delicate blush to sophisticated salmon, refined cherry blossom to bold magenta, there’s a tone to suit even the most reluctant fashion follower.

The key to wearing it well is to avoid flounces, bows and big details. Keep shapes simple – for example, by investing in a great, traditionally styled coat in a powder-puff shade. It will go with everything in your wardrobe, be perfect for throwing over jeans at the weekend and smart enough for workwear.

Don’t be afraid of hot pink, though. It is a fabulous way to add interest to casual outfits – and it has the added bonus of giving your skin, and perhaps even your mood, an instant glow!

Opt for a bright ‘going-out’ top, cardi, flats or a bold, chunky accessory for a little colour pop.

Thinking pink really is the simplest way to add an edge of youthful elegance to your wardrobe this month.
