Gunners need to find someone to steer the ship

-

FOOTBALL clubs rarely prosper when there’s a lack of leadership at the top.

You need the right person to take an overview and be able to make decisions that can sometimes seem a bit harsh.

There’s no sign of that at Arsenal.

Somebody has to take a grip of the situation regarding Arsene Wenger’s (left) position at the club.

At the moment we have this farcical situation where nobody knows if he will sign a new two-year contract.

Meanwhile, players are running down their contracts because they don’t know who will be picking the team.

It’s clear to me that most Arsenal supporters are in favour of the manager moving on.

He has done some great work at the club but everyone has a shelf life.

What Arsenal need is someone to say: “Sorry, Arsene, you might think you can work through the stick you’re getting, but enough’s enough”.

It seems they don’t have anyone strong enough to deliver that message.

There’s a clear lack of leadership on and off the pitch and the club will be in limbo until that’s resolved.
