THE beauty industry is now worth £17 billion to the UK economy with cosmetic sales of £1.34 billion. The average woman will now spend £18,000 over their lifetime on make-up. She’ll buy 38 different facial products such as moisturise­rs, cleansers, toner, eye creams and face masks. Wipes are most popular at five packs per year. But fewer women are going under the knife, with the number of cosmetic procedures dropping by 40% last year.
